How to reset Thomson Gateway TG585 V8 & V7 to default settings

Hi everyone, a lot of people are having issues & difficulties with the Thomson Gateway V8 or V7, both of them are very similiar. So i will try my best to give you all the solutions to configure your router in the easiest way possible.

 

• Reset Thomson Gateway TG585 V8 & V7 to factory settings:

There are two easy ways to reset your router, resetting your modem clears all custom settings, such as port forwarding, security or wireless settings...

    Reset via modem:

 1. Use something like a pen to push the RESET boutton on the back of the modem
 2. Hold it for 5-10 seconds
 3. Release it when the power light turn to Red

     Reset via the modem interface (configuration):

 1. Log into the Thomson Gateway interface
           - Tape 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.1.1 in the address bar
           -  Enter the Username and the Password
                The default details are:
                  Username: admin
                   No Password & if it has one: The serial number on the bottom of your router

2. Select Thomson Gateway from the menu

 3. Click on Configuration

  4. Under "Pick a task", Click:
                - Reset my Thomson Gateway (for the V8)
                - Return to Factory Default Settings (For the V7)
             

     *This will take approximately 1 minute
